SUBJECT:      Board Elects New Corporate Officers

We are pleased to announce that our Board of Directors elected Sondra L. Barbour and Stephanie C. Hill as Corporate Officers last Thursday in recognition of the important positions they currently hold.  Their elections are effective February 1.  The Board also approved the promotion of Sondra to Senior Vice President, Enterprise Business Services (EBS).  She will retain her title of Chief Information Officer.  In addition, the Board elected Orlando P. Carvalho as a Corporate Officer, effective when he assumes leadership of the F-35 program April 1.

Reporting to President and Chief Operating Officer Chris Kubasik, Sondra leads the Corporation’s internal information technology operations – including protection of the Corporation’s infrastructure and information from cyber threats, the Financial Services organization, and the Energy, Environment, Safety & Health organization.  She has led the EBS team since January 2008 and previously served as Vice President, Corporate Shared Services; Vice President of Corporate Internal Audit; and Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Operations for the Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems & Solutions Business Area.

As an elected Corporate Officer, Stephanie will retain her title of Vice President, Corporate Internal Audit.  Administratively reporting to Senior Vice President and General Counsel Maryanne Lavan, Stephanie leads the Internal Audit organization, improving the Corporation’s operations in the areas of finance, environmental safety, information technology and program operations.  She joined Internal Audit in September 2010.  Previously, she served as Vice President and General Manager of the Electronic Systems-Mission Systems & Sensors (MS2) Baltimore site, where she was responsible for leading the Corporation’s activities in the Integrated Defense Technologies market segment.

Orlando, who currently serves as Vice President and Deputy of the F-35 program, has been selected to lead the F-35 program effective April 1.  In that position, he will be responsible for successful completion of the System Development and Demonstration program, transition to production, flight testing, and deployment and sustainment of three F-35 variants for the three branches of the U.S. military and ten international countries committed to the aircraft.  Prior to joining Aeronautics in August last year, he was President of the Electronic Systems-Mission Systems & Sensors (MS2) business unit.

Please join us in congratulating Sondra, Stephanie and Orlando on these well-deserved elections and in thanking them for their continuing, critical contributions to our Corporation.
